I don’t love websites anymore.

Times change and so do I.

There was a day when I loved creating websites. I had about fifty of them at one time, but those days are long gone. There’ve been two times in my life where I thought I was done with them, but the first didn’t stick. The second seems to have been the last.

I have a website for the books I publish under a pseudonym, and I’ve been needing to update the WordPress theme it uses. Lately, I’ve been thinking it’s time to get started on that project before things get too creaky behind the scenes.

But I really don’t want to. I just don’t like spending time working on the back end of a website anymore, and it’s been almost a decade since I wanted to.

It’s normal to grow out of old hobbies (or lose the love for your work), but I still feel a little sad thinking about it. I guess the time really has come for me to say goodbye to that part of my life.
